THE RIPPLEFFECT was born out of a desire to see artistry and intentional artistic practice take precedence in formal dance training. Instead of building dancers, we want to help shape movement artists. Instead of the expectation of a product, we ask you to dive deep into the process. Your time at THE RIPPLEFFECT is not about fulfilling our brief, impressing the audience, or coming out ahead - but rather honing your OWN unique voice.

By providing tools, expertise, training and support, THE RIPPLEFFECT is where you can grow into- or shift inside of- your own form. From fundamental compositional tools, personal professional experience and practices, and a vast array of skillsets from globally-versed Mentors, you’ll engage in intentional examination, questioning, play, and creation.

When asked- What is The Rippleffect?- the base answer is- A Choreographic Intensive. But, what makes our programs different, is the focus on mentorship, feedback, and application. With 8 incredible mentors- each with their own arsenal of choreographic achievements- to learn from and engage with, you will grow as a thinking body and an agile mind.

THE RIPPLEFFECT is designed to offer a wide breadth of training, practices, and ways of working, meaning, no matter at what stage you find yourself in your choreographic career- whether you are still figuring out your voice or are simply in need of a rejuvenation of perspectives and practice- you are sure to take away something that sticks.

The Tracks

Since RIPPLE began in 2018 (and resurrected post-covid in 2024), we have explored various structures and offerings across our Summer Academies and Winter Intensives. THE RIPPLEFFECT is meant for both choreographers and movement artists looking for space to dive deep into their making practice as well as for dancers looking for world-class training from leading artists and performance opportunities across both the stage and the screen.

Participants of the FULL CHOREOGRAPHIC ACADEMY, where you receive intimate knowledge, guidance, and in-depth compositional practice with the mentors, can choose between the Stage Track or the Film Track. Your curriculum will be geared towards the specialities of creating for either context, with opportunities during the academy to explore classes and workshops which may feed to both cohorts.
